Its Almost Over
The Regular Season is about to end and the Top 8 teams will be selected to compete in the MPL Playoffs. With so many epic matches that happened during the regular season some teams rose to power and some fell to the bottom. With so many stories we want to tell you about we had to root out 2 – the battle at the top and at the bottom.
Battle For The Top Spot
The top 2 contenders we have in the MPL are Team Saiyan from Malaysia and IDNS SG from Singapore. Both teams are strong squads in their own right. Taking a look at TSYN first they stick to a more split push strategy which has proven to be their strongest asset, especially when they are behind in a game. However this strategy might not work against a more experienced team like IDNS SG.
Looking at IDNS SG they generally stick to a full team push strategy and barely stray away from that. They have also had minor setbacks leading to those 2 losses making both team seem evenly matched. The regular season isn’t the end of the MPL but both teams’ pride is on the line. Both of these teams want to prove that they are the best and take the title of King of MY and SG. Who will claim the top seed in this clash of titans?
Who Will Make Top 8?
The bottom 2 teams will be eliminated after the regular season so it is crucial for these bottom 3 teams to bring their A-game if they want to make the spot into the top 8.
Flashback 2 weeks ago, Falcon7 seemed like they had no chance to make it to the top 8. Sitting in the bottom with no wins spelled doom for the team. However during these past 2 weeks Falcon7 came out with 4 wins in a row. They are showing up differently from their earlier performances as though the team saw a full shift in their play style, as well as confidence. Rising from the ashes of defeat they rose above Equalizer and Louvre into 8th place according to the current standings. Given their strong recent performances will it be enough to take them into the top 8?
Louvre SG has been struggling recently with their match ups but they managed to secure 3 points throughout the regular season. They might be behind Falcon7 by 1 point but they can still make it if they out perform well in their final match. They play against an out-of-form Mysterious Assassin 3. They only need to finish with the same points as Falcon7 because they have a better head-to-head record. We can be sure that they will be watching Falcon7 closely tonight.
Equalizer has been in bad shape since the start of the regular season but they have a slight chance in making a comeback if they play their cards right. They have secured a single point so they need to win all of their next games in order to make it which will be difficult considering their next matches will be against Mystic Burden and Tyrants. They face seemingly impossible odds, but you never know what might happen, and they will have to dream big.
